Stories For My Son

Today I’m continuing my journey of documenting stories about me to share with my son. I’m following topics that were provided by www.babymakingmachine.com. You can find a list of previous topics and posts at the bottom of this page.
Describe your relationship with your spouse.
This is an easy topic for me to talk about, but probably not easy for you to read. I’ll try and keep the ewww factor to a minimum.
Meeting your father was genuinely a love at first sight moment. I don’t know how to describe it to others, it’s not like I knew anything about him to love. But I did know, with confidence, that I was meant to marry him within moments of seeing him…it’s what we like to call “a total God thing”.
We are truly a team and approach everything in life with that attitude. We split household chores, parenting duties, and even involve ourselves in each other’s work. We’re about the only couple I know that spend 24 hours a day together, and still complain that we need a babysitter so we can go out and spend time together. Sorry, kiddo….I promise we enjoy our time with you too.
He’s the one person I’ve ever let myself admit that I need and I that I rely on. He accepts that living with me means I will spontaneously burst into song and/or dance at any given moment. He’s come to affectionately refer to my zest for life as Pep Level 5. Most importantly, he takes my control freak, list making, neurotic behavior in stride.
I guess to sum up my relationship with your father, he’s simply the love of my life, my other half. I promise we’ll continue to gross you out for the rest of our lives.
